Moomba Boat Review

Moomba tow boats are as popular with their owners as they are with the top water skiers they have towed in major competitions. The company still hand-rolls every inch of fibre-glass for the hull and each boat is rigorously tested and checked before it is shipped.

In the late 1980 inboard boats were becoming increasingly expensive and Supra Sports Management recognised the need for a boat that could meet the needs of the mass market without compromising the needs of the serious water ski-ers.

In November 1989 the first product mold was acquired from an Australian tow boat manufacturer and in 1990 the Moomba Boomerang was born in North America.

Inboard Marine bought Supra Sports in 1992 and continued to manufacture Supra and Moomba boats throughout 1995 until United Marine of Chicago took over the manufacturing operations and quickly assembled a group of former master craft executives.

They produced the Moomba Outback in 1997. Skier's Choice Inc, based in Maryville, Tennessee now manufacture the Moomba Wakeboard Boats and each one is put through a rigorous set of lake tests. A second quality check is performed on every boat by one of the company's managers before the boat is shipped.

Moomba Boats has earned ther coveted NNMA CSI Award twice for exceptional achievement in customer satisfaction. It is not just the owners who love them, Moomba has towed professional readers at the Gravity Games, the WWA World Championships and at top level competitions throughout the world.

So what makes Moomba Boats so special? The boat-bulders still hand-roll every inch of fibreglass used in their hulls and the company only purchases the finest component parts such as Indmar's GM Vortex marinized engines.

Every year Moomba offers one special Collector's Edition of one of the XLV boats named after one of the largest tournament water sports events held and pulled by a Moomba boat, "The Gravity Games."

The 2011 Gravity Games XLV comes in a white gelcoat pattern with a navy accent and a platinum interior with navy highlights. The boat comes with a colour co-ordinated duel axel trailer with dual brakes and LED wiring.

This 'Special Edition' boat has a large sundeck and plenty of room inside. There is stainless steel at every corner and everywhere in-between making the boat very durable.
